Eleano Gowatsky , February 23, 1952 — January 01, 2019

Eleanor (nee Milanich) Gowatsky, 88, of Clifton, passed away on January 1, 2019. Born July 11, 1930 in Garfield, she resided there before moving to Clifton in 1965. Eleanor married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Gowatsky on February 23, 1952.

For many years she worked as a seamstress until becoming a homemaker and raising her children. She and Eugene loved traveling especially to Florida and Las Vegas. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church, Clifton and a member of the St. Paul Leisure Club.

Eleanor loved making French-Beaded flowers and her hobby turned into a business that brought her to many shows at the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York City, Boston, MA and Morristown, NJ. She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene (January 24, 2010); her parents, Michael and Anna Marie (nee Werling) Milanich. Survivors include her children, Bruce Gowatsky and his wife, Cecile of Clifton and Lynn Gowatsky of Clifton; four sisters, Irene McAnneny of Meriden, CT, Stephanie Robinson and her husband, Stephen of Milton, DE, Katherine Blanck of Langhorne, PA and Judith Krumpfer of Fair Lawn; one granddaughter, Jaimie Gowatsky; many nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Visiting will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave. , Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15am at the funeral home.

Mass 10:00 am at St. Paul R.C. Church, corner of Union Avenue and Second Street, Clifton. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Shriners Hospital, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607, www.
