Elisa’s Obituary OXFORD: Elisa Desiderato, age 83, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2019, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Desiderato. Mrs. Desiderato was born in San Benedetto dei Marsi, province of L’Aquila, Abruzzi, Italy on August 13, 1935, the youngest of twelve children, to the late Cesidio and Anna DeSantis.

She immigrated to the United States in 1954 at the age of eighteen and resided in Oxford since 1972. Elisa was employed at the former Slim Fit Dress Co in Shelton and the former H.C. Cook Co. in Ansonia and later retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. She loved being surrounded by her family, especially on Sundays, when everyone was together enjoying her well-known spaghetti and meatballs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Sergio A. Desiderato (Maureen) of Oxford and Donald M. Desiderato (Lynn) of Burlington, cherished grandchildren, Lindsay Marek (Rick), Justin Desiderato, Hilary Desiderato, Dillon Desiderato (Shana) and Carissa Desiderato, great-grandsons, Mason, Bradley, Levi and Asher Marek and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held on Sunday February 3, 2019, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.

Entombment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elisa’s memory may be made to CT Hospice, 2 Trap Falls Road, Shelton, CT 06484.
