OBITUARY Elizabeth Duesberry Huckstep December 18, 1927 – December 10, 2018 HUCKSTEP, Elizabeth Duesberry, 90, of Hanover, passed from this life and into the next on December 10, 2018. The rest of us left in this world had to bid farewell to a wonderful woman. She was born December 18, 1927 in Richmond.

Growing up in Highland Springs, she was schooled at Glen Echo Elementary, graduating from Highland Springs High and RPI School of Business in 1949. After graduation she was employed at WRVA Radio where she met the love of her life, Julian Huckstep, Studio Engineer. They married on June 28, 1950 and made their home in Hanover County.

Elizabeth spent her life rearing four children and considered her grandchildren the lights of her life, she smiled at the mention of their names and even more when they were with her. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hanover Courthouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Ethel Flippo Duesberry; brother, Andrew Duesberry; sister, Florence Berry and her loving husband, Julian.

Elizabeth is survived by four children, Lloyd C. Huckstep (Anne), Betty Waldrop (Bob), Julie Harris (Randy), and Julian B. Huckstep III (Valerie); grandchildren, Andrew and Hunter Harris, Brett and Neil Huckstep, Matthew and Eric Morton, Angie Huckstep, Corey Waldrop and Chelsea Waldrop; great-grandchildren, Hank, Grace, Annabelle, Riley, and Joscelyn; brother, Harry C. Duesberry, Jr. and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5-8pm at Woody Funeral Home & Cremation Service – Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 8050 St. Paul’s Church Rd, Hanover, VA 23069.

Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Air Rd, N. Chesterfield, VA 23235 in Elizabeth’s honor. FAMILY She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Ethel Flippo Duesberry; brother, Andrew Duesberry; sister, Florence Berry and her loving husband, Julian.
