Elke “Oma” Christel Lisenby April 15, 1944 – February 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card LISENBY- Mrs. Elke “Oma” Christel Lisenby age 74 of North Baggett Circle Brewton, Alabama passed away Tuesday February 12, 2019 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Germany, as a young adult working at the Military Base in Germany. She met the love of her life.

They were later married at the Escambia County, Alabama Court House. After many years of traveling in the Army they settled back in her husbands hometown of Brewton. After his passing in 1979 she stayed in Brewton and raised her children as a single parent.

Oma loved God, her family, her Church, flowers, reading, substitute teaching, expressing her political views, her pets, and most of all her grandchildren. Survivors: (1) Son- Jens “J.D.” (San-di) Lisenby of Navarre, Florida (1) Daughter- Christina (Joey) Booker of Brewton, Alabama (1) Brother- Klaus Gunter of Germany (1) Sister- Ute Baumann of Germany (2) Grandchildren- Malary Salter, Jo Jo Booker ***Preceded in death by: Husband- Jimmy Douglas Lisenby Visitation will be held Monday night February 18, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BREWTON, ALABAMA. Memorial Services are scheduled for Monday night February 18, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME with Bro.
