She was born in Kilrea, Northern Ireland on March 12, 1917. She was the surviving sibling of 5 brothers and 2 sisters who preceded her in death.

Ella graduated from Asbury Park High School in June 1941. She then went on to work until her retirement in 1980 at NJ Bell/Verizon as an Operator. Ella lived in Asbury Park and Ocean Grove.

She was an active member of Holy Spirit Church and of the Catholic Daughters Court at Holy Spirit in Asbury Park for many years. Ella is survived by two Nieces, Alice Pollard (Bruce), Oro Valley, AZ, Mary Shimmin, Belfast, N.I. and many Great and Great-great Nieces and Nephews. Ella’s interests were her faith, cooking, sewing and crafts, card games, and travel.

She traveled all over the world. Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2019 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Buckley Funeral Home, Asbury Park followed by a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church in Asbury Park. Interment St Catharines Cemetery, Sea Girt.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Foundation – United Methodist Communities (foundation. umcommunities.org), or your favorite cause in Ella’s honor.
