OBITUARY Ellen Meyer January 6, 1939 – February 2, 2019 Ellen Meyer, 80, of Tampa, FL passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on February 2, 2019. Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ellen moved with her family to Tampa in 1978. She worked as a property appraiser, retiring from BayOne Appraisal Services.

Ellen was an avid birder with Tampa Audubon, where she served as president for several years. A patron of the arts, Ellen was a passionate jazz fan and an enthusiastic supporter of the visual arts in Tampa. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emily (Klotz) Heckl.

She is survived by her husband Walter (Jim) Meyer, daughters Angela (Eric) and Rachel (Daniel), as well as her sisters, Emilie Monaghan and Sarah Morgan and their families. Visitation 6-8 pm on Friday, February 8 at Blount & Curry Oldsmar-West Hillsborough Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 9 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to Audubon Florida.
