Obituary for Ellena G. Bregante Devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother Ellena G. Bregante 97, passed away June 30, 2018 at Serenity House following a short illness. Ellena was born on November 12, 1920 in Hanford, California to Abramo and Theresa Poloni, Italian emigrants. Ellena spent her youth in Lindsay, California in the San Joaquin Valley with her younger brother, Aldo.

In 1945, Ellena met her future husband Alfred Bregante, moving to Santa Barbara, California after they were wed in 1946. In her early years Ellena worked for the Bank of America in Lindsay and then later for Robinson’s department store in Santa Barbara in the accounting department. Ellena was a guild member at Saint Frances Hospital and was active in the Italian Boot Club and Sons and Daughters of Italy.

Ellena is survived by her son Aldon Bregante, daughter in-law Lisa Bregante, granddaughters Lindsay Bregante Myers and Jaime Bregante, grandson in-laws Marc Myers and Donovan Maccarone. Ellena is pre-deceased by her husband and her brother. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am July 12, 2018 at San Roque Catholic Church.
