Mr. Ellis Connell, 99 of Alapaha went to his holy mansion in the sky Sunday, September 9, 2018. Mr. Connell was born January 13, 1919 to the late Alden James Connell & Martha Pearl Anderson Connell. He served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II in Palawan Philippines.

Mr. Connell attended Norman Park College and was a logistics specialist at Robbins Air Force Base in 1948. He was a member at Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins and loved the VFW. Survivors include his daughter, Penny Ray of Alapaha; grandchildren, Tony (Cynde) Mathis, Jason (Misty) Mathis, Rusty (Leigh) Mathis, Ellis Heath (Tammy-dec) O’Herron, and Kimberly Brewer Marsh; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mr. Connell was preceded in death by his wife, Montez E’Dalgo Connell; daughter, Patricia Ann Connell Mathis; brother, Jamie Connell; and one sister, Dura Connell. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Westview Cemetery with Dr. Danny V. Ray officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
