Mrs. Newell passed away April 30, 2019 at the University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Bro.

Charles Mayo will officiate with burial to follow in the East Side Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Meadows, David Meadows, Landon Fowler, Jason Newell, Mike Ivy and Frank Meadows. Mrs. Newell was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Newell, Sr.; son, Wyatt Newell Jr.; grandchildren, Andy Newell, Cherrie Newell; great-grandchild, Christopher Newell; sister, Geneva Cooley; brothers, Virgil, Glenn, Charles and A.V. Shows.

She is survived by her daughters, Helen (Jack) Smith of Orange Beach, AL, Linda (Frank) Meadows of Carriere; sons, Harold (Cindy) Newell of Tupelo, Billy Wayne (Billie Jo) Newell of Petal; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at East Side Baptist Church.
