She was born October 4, 1937 in Liegnitz, Germany to Julius Kurt and Margarete Riedel . She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Christine.

She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She spent her entire life loving her family and making sure their every need was met. She would want you make sure you love someone and make them laugh.

She made us all know we were loved and were laughing. She is survived by her husband Charles Heard, son, Oliver Heard (Sandra); Daughter Janiece Simpson (Tony), Michele Tolbert (Kevin) and Amy Heard; Grandchildren Jason Heard, Charlee Moore, Nick Heard, Samantha Duke, Stephanie Chandler, Sammie Griffin, Stevie Griffin, Leslie Simpson and Christie Eng; fifteen great grandchildren and her dog Teddy. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service following at 1:00pm at the funeral Home.

The family suggests donations to be made to your favorite charity or Chapel Hill UMC children’s charities. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
