Cheraw, SC Emma Jean Pegues, 72, died February 22, 2019. Born in Chesterfield, SC she was a daughter of the late James Fred and Mae Hancock Tarlton. She was the widow of Jack Pegues.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed painting, reading, writing, pottery, fishing, crafts, camping and being outdoors. Surviving are her sons, Rusty (Kim) Price and John Pegues both of Florence, SC, a brother, Deward “Doug” Tarlton of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Hunter Price, Hailley Price, Willow Price, Lily Andrews, a great grandchild, Emmalyn Howard, and a special niece and best friend, Brenda Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, also, brothers James “Bill” Tarlton, Fred Tarlton Jr., sisters, Vernell Coleman and Sybil Brooks Winburn. The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC A memorial service will be held to 3:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
