Emma Jo Chamness May 13, 1959 – March 04, 2019 Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Emma Jo Chamness, 59, Drexel, MO, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial to follow in Lone Jack Cemetery, Lone Jack, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Atkinson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Emma was born May 13, 1959 in Kansas City, MO, a daughter of Calvin L. and Josephine Marie (Fangrow) Gorsage. She was a 1977 graduate of Cass Midway High School.

Emma married Robert Chamness on August 26, 1984 at the Christian Church in Drexel. She was a lifelong resident of the Freeman, Mo and Drexel, MO area. Emma was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church. She was a caregiver for both of her parents. There was nothing that Emma loved more than spending time with her grandchildren.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Evelyn Green, and one stepson, David Chamness. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; two sons, Troy Chamness (Lori), Archie, MO and Michael Gregory (Kim), Freeman, MO; one daughter, Elizabeth Deich (Ryan), Lone Jack, MO; a step-daughter, Donna Chamness, Independence, MO; four brothers, Frank A. Gorsage (Mary Ann), Ron Gorsage (Betty Jo), Dan Gorsage (Brenda), all of Freeman, MO and Calvin L. Gorsage (Dee), Archie, MO; two sisters, Arlene Welch (James), Freeman, and Carol Davidson (Don), Orr City, TX; 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
