Emma Lou (Wainscott) McFarland, 82, of Bowling Green, passed away, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her residence. She was born July 31, 1936 in Owenton, KY to the late Herbert & Minerva (Chapman) Wainscott. She was a homemaker, loved children, and a Sunday school teacher at Emmanuel Baptist Church where she loved serving the Lord.

She mentored many children during her lifetime and a she was a hometown hero. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe McFarland. Survivors include seven children, Joe McFarland, JR, Betty McFarland, Sharon McFarland, Thomas Christopher McFarland, Christopher Matthew McFarland, Sharon Faye Burch, and Ruby Darlene McFarland, sisters, Alma Perkins and Alice Staser.

Mrs. McFarland was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. A very special friend Elaine Goad. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2019 at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel in Bowling Green, with Rev.

Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM, Sunday and 9 AM until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
