Eric Franklin Bay (MGySgt-USMC Retired) Eric Franklin Bay, 83, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. He was a peninsula resident for about ten years and was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church. Eric retired from the United States Marine Corp.

after thirty years as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He was a teacher and a drum major for the Marine Corp. Drum and Bugle Corp.

Survivors include his wife, of 34 years, Peggy T. Bay; two children, Linda Budahn (Mike) and Lora McCain; one sister, Kristine Layman; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Alex Budahn. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held at Deer Park Baptist Church in Newport News, VA on Saturday, February 2, 2019.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 10:30 until 12:00 at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory in Fairburn, GA. Interment will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 2 o’clock at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Deer Park Baptist Church, 826 J. Clyde Morris Blvd.
