She married Walter “Doc” White Sr. March 11, 1937 when she was 15 years old. They had a son, Walter Jr. and in 1950, a daughter named Brenda.

That year the family moved into their Scottsboro home which is now affectionately referred to as “Mamaw’s”. In 1963, she lost Doc. She remarried Thomas “Jimmy” Crouch in 1969 and they were married 24 years when he passed in 1993.

Ms. Crouch was a member of Scottsboro Methodist Church for over 40 years. She and her best friend Mildred had their hair done every Friday for 50 years. According to Brenda, “Mildred was the ring leader and mama followed.

If Mildred didn’t do it, mama didn’t do it”. In fact, Erline had never learned to drive a car until Mildred taught her when she was well into her 30s. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, her beloved son Walter White, Jr. and Brother Charles Spencer Jr “Bubba” of Louisville, KY.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda White Osborne, Son-in-law Dereck Osborne, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 3 granddaughters-in-laws, 7 great grandsons, 3 great granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter-in-law, and a great great granddaughter on the way. Visitation will take place at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home on Sunday, May 19th from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again at Scottsboro United Methodist Church on Monday, May 20th from 11 A.M. until the hour of Service at 1:30 P.M. Interment follows at Spring Hills Cemetery.
