Obituary for Ernest “Curly” Leeds Leeds, Ernest “Curly” Ernest Leeds, known to friends as “Curly” passed away on June 6, 2018, at the age of 99 in Grass Valley, Ca. “Curly” was born in Nebraska on April 17, 1919, but was a long time native of Chico, California. In fact, he retired from the City of Chico.

He will be missed by many including his granddaughter Angie Helgeson, her Husband Lee Helgeson, and their children, his great-grandsons, Jack and Ian of Grass Valley, California. He will also be missed deeply by his step-son Gary Wallace and his wife Kathy of Chico, California. He also has a sister in Oklahoma, Betty Roberts.

Curly had a daughter named Betty that passed away in 2008. “Curly” was an electrician in the Navy until 1945. He had a love of horses from a young age.

A viewing will be held Monday, June 18th from 5-8p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, June 19th at 10:00am at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
