OBITUARY Ernest “Ernie” McElveen Jr. October 13, 1965 – January 16, 2019 Ernest L. “Ernie” McElveen, Jr. age 53 of Leland, NC passed away on Wednesday, the sixteenth of January 2019 at his home. Born in Wake County, NC on the thirteenth of October 1965, he was the son of Ernest L. “Rock” McElveen, Sr. and Gloria Faye R. McElveen of Winnabow. Ernie was a retired barber and was an accomplished fisherman who loved being on the water especially with his father.

He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Ernie was a member of Highest Praise Church and graduated from South Brunswick High School. In addition to his parents, Rock and Faye McElveen, he was survived by his loving wife, Christine Love McElveen of Leland; two daughters, Elizabeth Durham and husband Kendall of Winnabow, Susannah McElveen of Wilmington; two sisters, Tammie Williams and husband Steve of Bolivia, Gina Harrell and fiancée Curt Warren of Winnabow and a granddaughter, Cayla Durham.

A celebration of life will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday the nineteenth of January 2019 in White Funeral & Cremation Service, Bolivia/Supply Chapel, 603 Ocean Highway, East, Bolivia, NC. You are cordially invited to a time of visitation with the family on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences are encouraged and may be offered at www.
