OBITUARY Ernest Joseph Russo May 4, 1935 – November 17, 2018 Ernest (Ernie) Russo, 83, of Novato, CA passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018. He was born in San Francisco on May 4, 1935, the fourth of five boys born to Diodoro and Grazia Russo. Ernie graduated from Galileo High School and joined the Air Force where he served as a reserve for several years.

He worked the next fifty years as a window cleaner in San Francisco for large cleaning companies as well as maintaining his own business. Ernie was married to Gayle Russo for twenty years and they had two children, daughter Cindie, and son Ted. After moving to Marin in the late Sixties, Ernie was an active member of both the Marin Italian Athletic Club and the Corte Madera Lions Club.

In 1986 he moved to Novato, eventually easing into retirement where he enjoyed trips to the track to play the horses and following all the San Francisco sports teams. Ernest is survived by two brothers, Vince and Mario (Teddy) as well as his daughter Cindie Errigo of Lincoln, CA and son Ted Russo of Bloomington, IL. He has four granddaughters – Jenna Ingraham, Cylvia Vier, Sophia Russo and Isabella Russo.

Additionally he is survived by six great-grandchildren – Jamilla Ingraham, Jazmine Gosselin, Lucas J. Gosselin, Joelle Gosselin, Gloria Perriera and Kameron Vier. Ernie’s infectious smile was loved by everyone and he will be dearly missed by all. Ernest will be laid to rest Tuesday November 27th at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato, CA 94945 the graveside service will begin at 12:00pm.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be immediately to follow in the Reception area.
