Born in Pennington Gap, VA, he was the son of the late Rufus and Lotus Williams. Ernie, a resident of Dahlonega for the last 36 years, was a tremendous salesman.

He owned a commercial painting business and photography studio, and enjoyed great success as a real estate broker/agent and developer. Ernie traveled the world and loved to experience new people and cultures. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed teaching young men as a scoutmaster and baseball coach.

He loved his two dogs who were his ever faithful companions. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, her son Derek Stahl, wife Ashley and granddaughters Carolyn and Madison; 3 children from his marriage to wife Nancy, son Scott Williams, wife Bonney and grandsons Jonathan, Timothy, Nathan, and Jacob, daughter Lisa McCaleb, husband Keith, and grandchildren Ryan, Jessica and Benjamin, and son Chad Williams, wife Julie, and grandchildren Kayla, Zachary and Taylor; and son Scott Van Williams and wife Manuela; several great-grandchildren; along with siblings Joyce Martin, Gloria Jean Smith, Robert Williams and Kay Green. He was preceded in death by an older brother Ronald Williams, and a beloved daughter Kristi Noelle Williams.

The family will receive visitors on Friday November 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dahlonega Funeral Home, 25 Gibson Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533 with a memorial service Saturday at 1:00 PM at the same location.
