Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 25, 1959 to parents Dan and Sylvia Smith Napier, Scott had lived in Dahlonega the past six months having moved here from West Virginia. He had previously lived in White County for two years where he served as associate pastor at Cleveland Church of God.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Connie Bennett Napier, his children; Carrie Napier (Justin Ravan), Kayla Dingess (Jordan), and Scotty Napier(Emily Wood), grandchildren; Aubrey Sue Dingess and Olivia Anna Dingess, all of Dahlonega. Other relatives also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service, also on Sunday.
