Velma Sullens March 25, 1942 – January 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Velma Sullens, age 76, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Mrs. Sullens was born in Lumpkin County on March 25, 1942 to the late George Tate and Margaret Mozzella Ridley Grizzle. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Sullens, daughter Sara Nell Taylor, sisters Violet Blackwell, Vinnie Rodgers, and Verbie McClure, brothers Vernon Grizzle and Verlon Grizzle.

Mrs. Sullens was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her son Richard Garrison, Center, AL; grandchildren Brian and Teresa Hicks, and Regina Taylor; great-grandchildren Courtney Hicks and Lacey Hicks; sisters Viola Holden, Rome, Vienna Jones, Summerville, and Verdie Grizzle, Calhoun; brother Venson Grizzle, Rome; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.

The Rev. Mike Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
