Ernestina R Iacobacci Franklin , December 29, 1924 — October 07, 2018

Ernestina R. Franklin Beloved Mother, Sister, and Aunt, 93 Mrs. Ernestina R. (nee Iacobacci) Franklin, 93, of East Orange, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, October 12 at 8:15 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 11 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Ernestina was born in Newark and resided in East Orange.

She worked as an Assembler for many years at Federal Pacific, Newark, NJ before retiring to spend time taking care of family. She was loved by everyone, and she cared about those in need and would give the shirt off of her back. She loved to bake for the holidays and parties, and was the best Italian Cookie maker in the family.

She loved to entertain and cooked a feast for all to enjoy. Spending time with family meant the most to her. Her eyes sparkled when she smiled, and you could see the love in her heart.

She had a laugh that filled the room, and was always happy and always on the go. Ernestina was an amazing and loving Mother, Sister, Aunt and friend. Ernestina is survived by her loving daughter Mary Seritella-Trezza and her companion Robert Mendolla; her step-children, Louis John Franklin and Anna Mae Franklin; her step-grandchildren, Tina Frye and husband Rich, and Robert Pantella; her siblings Catherine Benedetto and husband Phil, Michael Iacobacci and his wife Barbara, and Patricia Pennisi.

She is also survived by her 21 nieces and nephews; 30 great- nieces, and nephews, and 16 great-great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Louis J. Franklin (2017), her parents Candido and Mary (Siniscal) Iacobacci, and her siblings Helen Mangeris, Frank Iacobacci, Edith Christiano, Nancy Sponzilli, Anna Mongiovi, John Iacobacci, and Nathan Iacobacci. A special note of thanks to all of the nurses and staff at Regency Gardens, Wayne, New Jersey for all the love and care you gave to Ernestina during her 10 month residency.

A very special thank you to Chante, a very special lady who Ernestina grew very fond of.
