Rushford — Esther E. Furniss of 9465 E. Centerville Road died Thursday, October 4, 2018 in her home. She was born on February 21, 1928 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a daughter of the late John and Eleanor Smith Hope. On June 25, 1952 in Franklinville she married William Furniss who survives.

Esther was a member of the Rushford Baptist Church and was the Sunday school teacher for 40 years and the mission’s treasurer for 33 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are their children, William David Furniss, Diana Furniss, Rebecca (Greg) Cole.

Lynda (Randie) Sears, Lorie (Daniel) Tullar, Tammy (Robert) Holmes all of Rushford, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Eleanor Edwards, Harry Hope, John Hope, Robert Hope, Dorothy Robbins and Margaret Dornan. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Rushford Baptist Church. Pastor Jonathan Finley will officiate. Burial will be in Podonque Cemetery, Rushford.
