Esther Nichols, 92, of Terre Haute passed away on December 11, 2018 in Southwood Healthcare. She was born on October 2, 1926 to Rev. Lloyd Romine and Faye (Roe) Romine.

Esther is preceded in death by both parents; her husband Charles E. Nichols Sr; Son William Nichols; Brother Harold Romine, as well as her sister Rebecca Baker. Esther is survived by her Sons, Charles “Chuck” E. Nichols Jr (Era) and Kevin Nichols (Cindy); Grandchildren Tony Nichols (Cindi), Jackie Howald (Matt), Chad Decker, and Shawn Decker (Amanda); Great-grandchildren IndiAnn Nichols, Karissah Nichols, Mataline Howald, Josh Decker, and Kaleigh Decker, as well as many nieces and nephews. Esther was a member of Kings Highway Tabernacle Church.

She taught music for many years, she had a great love for all types of music. Esther work for Berkowitz Leather. She enjoyed sitting down and snacking while watching television, especially Gaither home DVD’s.

She enjoyed spending time with family, but more than anything spending time with her grandchildren. She loved Christmas time. Visitation for Esther will be held Saturday, December 15 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Washington Avenue Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Church, located at 2900 Washington Ave.

Services will begin at 1:00 PM with Rev. Seals officiating. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Washington Avenue Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Church.
