Esther Rosalie Lusk, 90, passed into the Lord’s care on November 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Rocky Ford with Reverend Charles Shipman officiating. Esther was born on October 29, 1928 to George and Molly Bender in Rocky Ford, Colorado.

She graduated from Rocky Ford High School and Barnes Business College in Denver, CO. After graduating from Business College Esther returned to Rocky Ford where she met and married the love of her life, Wayne Lusk. Wayne and Esther were married on November 12, 1947.

They had two children Kent and Becky. Esther stayed home with Kent and Becky until they were in school before she went to work outside of the home. She worked for a short time as a teacher’s aide at Swink Public Schools before being hired as the Executive Secretary for Southeast Colorado Power Association in La Junta, a position she held the rest of her working life.

Esther was an excellent cook who was well known for her beautiful and delicious pies and other German delicacies. She adored her four Grandchildren, Paul Wayne, Luke, Hollie and David. She loved attending their sporting and school events.

She is survived by one brother, Ed (Nelda) Bender, her children, Kent (Donna) Lusk and Becky (Paul) Casper, grandchildren, Paul Wayne (Susan) Casper, Lt. Col. Luke (Christy) Casper, David Lusk and Hollie (lan) Baca, and great-grandchildren, Dalton, Hayden, Riley, Cort, Ryan, Malia, Fletcher and Lilliana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Molly Bender, husband Wayne Lusk and siblings Elsie Pachak, George Bender, Fritz Bender and Sarah Bonds. Online condolences may be made at www. PeacockFH.com.
