OBITUARY Ethel “Rita” Marie Hardy August 27, 1936 – December 6, 2018 Ethel “Rita” Bourque Hardy, age 82, of Welsh, Louisiana passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Rita was known as being a loving, selfless, caring, and a classy lady who never met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking and visiting with her family and friends.

Her legacy of love, compassion, and empathy for others will be carried on by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Edna Bourque, her brothers, Claude Bourque, Clarence Lee Bourque, George A. Bourque, Alfred J. Bourque, Lala Bourque, and Lloyd Bourque. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Harry James Hardy, daughter, Angela Marie Hardy Carrington, grandson, Mason Lee Joseph Carrington all of Welsh.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Welsh.

Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Saturday at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh with a Rosary held at 5 p.m. Visitation will resume at 12 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www. hixsonwelsh.com for the Hardy family.
