Eugene Allen Griffith, age 81 of Toronto passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was born March 11, 1937 in Clarksburg, WV. Eugene was a member of the Toronto Wesleyan Church; he loved to work on and paint cars, and loved family gatherings and picnics.

He was employed for 35 years as a machinist at the Weirton Steel Company where he was known by his fellow workers as Peanut. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy A. Griffith and Freda M. (Radcliff) Griffith; wife of 59 years, Marion Hope (Davis) Griffith who passed away in 2013, infant son, Eugene A. “Toby” Griffith, Jr. in 1957; sons, James R. Griffith in 1998 and Charles L. Griffith in 2017 and a sister, Betty Sue Kopras. He leaves behind his sons, Timothy (Debra) Griffith and Douglas Griffith all of Toronto; daughters, Crystal (Richard) Brousseau of Toronto and Debi Griffith of Connersville, OH; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Doris Kosegi of Toronto and brother Stacey Griffith of Tiltonsville, OH.

Visitation hours for Eugene will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday, December 16th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St, Toronto, OH. A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held 11 A.M. Monday, December 17th at the funeral home with Pastor James Wooden officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
