Obituary for Eugene “Franklin” Heavrin Marsch Eugene “Franklin” Heavrin Marsch, 83, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord December 2, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Hancock County, KY January 20, 1935 to the late Charles Burke Marsch and Myrtle Abb (Chappell) Marsch. Eugene was Charles and Myrtle’s 10th out of the 12 children.

Eugene served in the Air Force in 1954. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, St. Phillips Men’s Club, and Conservation club. Eugene retired from Red Spot paints after 43 1/2 years of employment as a Quality Control Manager and Technical Support.

He married his soulmate, Laura (Cox) Marsch, July 19, 1999. Eugene will be remembered as the Sargent of the neighborhood. He took great pride in the appearance of the yards around him and often would use a measuring stick to check the lawns nearby.

Some of his hobbies included hunting, raising children, and spending time with grandchildren. He was always the first person to offer help to others and never knew a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Myrtle Marsch; siblings Juanita Powell, Rudell Simmons, Leota Ray, Lani-Ann Schmidt, Janet Faye Marsch, and two infant brothers.

Eugene is survived by his wife Laura Marsch; children Dana (Rob) Grasso, Franklin Eugene “Sassy” (Donna) Marsch, Mitchell “Doug” Marsch, Leanne “Skunk” Green, Christopher Shannon Gibert, and William Joseph (Brandie) Cox; siblings Doris Maxine (Pete) Harris, Barbara Montees, Mitchell Berkley Marsch, and Agnes Faye (Joe) Ellison; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to Riley Hospital for Children, St. Jude’s Hospital, or Holy Cross Catholic Church. Holder’s Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Marsch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN at 11am with Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wanyonyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville from 3p-7p. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
