Of Waupaca, age 87, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at home. He was born in Birnamwood, Marathon County on April 22, 1931 to the late Willard and Adelia (Pietz) Schoenhofen. Eugene was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.

He was a lifelong farmer and also worked in construction. He enjoyed playing softball and in later years liked to watch his sons’ and grandson’s sports. He will be sadly missed by his wife: Cathy Campbell; sons: Joel Schoenhofen of Waupaca; and Dean Schoenhofen of Appleton; step sons: Mike and Bill Campbell; grandson: Taten Grimm; sister: Dorothy Fritz; sister-in-law: Carol Schoenhofen, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald, brother-in-law, Wallace Fritz, niece, Susan Dobrinska and nephew, Steven Fritz. The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
