Eugene Slimp Compton, Nickname “Sonny” passed away suddenly on February 9, 2019 in Fries, Virginia at the age of 78. Sonny was born on July 2, 1940 in Washington, DC. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1963 and served his Country and was discharged under honourable conditions.

Sonny was a taxi driver in Fairfax County, VA as well as a CDL truck driver for many years before retiring in the early 2000’s. Sonny loved to play his guitar, sing, tell jokes, making people laugh, travel, loved his family so very much and was a ladies man. He had a smile that would brighten up the room and an infectious laugh to everyone around him.

He was very much a people person and was loved by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a believer in our lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Sonny was preceded in death by his Newborn Daughter, His Mother Frances Finnell, Father Bascom Slemp, Sisters Nadine Hoosier Riley and Barbara Compton Spindle.

He is survived by his children, Son, Carl Suthard and Wife Elena G. Suthard, and their two Children; Daughter Kitty Plummer and Husband Roy Plummer and their Five Children and Four Grand Children; Son, David Matthew Coe and Wife Brittany Coe and their two Children. He had a total of nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Niece Juanita Everhart and Husband JR.

Everhart and their Children James Tate and wife Theresa Tate and Son James; Charles Tate and Kristina Mayne and Daughter Autumn; Landon Everhart and Brittany Odell; and Myla Everhart. As well as many other Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Viewing services will be held Monday February 18, 2019 from 7pm-9pm at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 12:30pm at Moser Funeral Home followed by an Honourable Burial Service at Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
