Eunice Marcelle Jackson , June 18, 1949 — July 12, 2018

Eunice Marcelle Jackson 99 formerly of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on July 12, 2018 at Milestone Senior Living in Eagle River, WI, where she lived with loving care for the past five years. She was born on June 7, 1919 in the town of Grand Rapids to Charles and Margaret (Raymond) Bodmer. She married Herbert Jackson on June 18, 1949 in Madison, WI, following his graduation.

Eunice graduated from Lincoln High School where she participated in the marching band and orchestra. Her first job… Read More » was with Coburn Accounting as a bookkeeper. She also worked at the Palace, the Wisconsin, and the Rapids theaters.

Herb’s career took Eunice to Waynesville, NC, Fort Hood, TX, Knoxville, TN, Indianapolis, IN, and then back to Wisconsin Rapids in 1956 where they settled to raise their two sons. Herb worked for Consolidated Papers and Eunice worked for Speltz Music until their retirement. Eunice was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She taught Sunday School at the First Congregational Church, was an exceptional cook, kept a spotless house and was extremely organized. She had a great sense of humor even in the last days of her life. She loved golfing, bowling, playing bridge, and watching sports, especially basketball.

She and Herb traveled the world on many trips including those to Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, China, Russia, Mexico, and every state in the USA. She is survived by her son Thomas (Susan) Jackson, St. Germain, WI. Three grandchildren; Heather (Adam) Rogge, Eli (Sara) Jackson and Abby (Ian) Jackson; along with five great-grandsons; Evan, Seth, Ashton, Wade and Ty.

She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert, and one son Douglas Jackson. A memorial service will be held on August 23, 2018 at First Congregational Church 311 2nd St. South, Wis. Rapids.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time.
