Evelyn Marovich, 90, formerly of Aliquippa, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was born on December 18, 1927 in Aliquippa, the daughter of the late Steve and Anna Yurkovich. Evelyn was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

She worked for Dravo Corporation on Neville Island during the 1950’s. During her husband’s service in the U.S. Marine Corps, she lived in California, North Carolina, Hawaii, Naples, Italy, and visited several countries in Europe, as well as Bangkok, Thailand. Evelyn and her husband spent 35 years in Beaufort, South Carolina before moving to Chippewa in 2009.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Yurkovich; and William Yurkovich. She is survived by her husband, SgtMaj. Peter J. Marovich USMC (Ret); a son, Peter Marovich, Jr. and his wife Jenny Jones; a daughter, Denise Ackerman and her husband Rene; three grandchildren, Sofia, Ian, and Colin Ackerman; sister-in-law Dorothy Yurkovich; and sister-in-law Ann Rossi and her husband Fred Rossi.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc. 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www. darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Mt.

Olivet Catholic Cemetery. St. Frances Cabrini Parish will conduct a Vigil Service on Wednesday at 3:45pm in the Funeral Home.
