OBITUARY Evelyn Q. Shelley August 22, 1938 – October 2, 2018 The town of Westmoreland has lost a great friend in the passing of the family matriarch, Evelyn Q. Shelley, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, surrounded in the love of her family, at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene, NH. Her parents, George and Eleanor M. (Clark) Fuller, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on August 22, 1938 in Keene, NH. Evelyn grew up in Spofford, NH where she was fondly known by her close friends as “Toots”.

Evelyn attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Keene High School. She went on to earn her registered nursing degree from Keene State College With her immense love of helping people, Evelyn worked for over 30 years with the former Keene Clinic on Main Street, and later with the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene. She was also a member of the Westmoreland United Church.

As the family matriarch, Evelyn’s entire life centered around her family. From the time her two sons Daniel and David were born, she devoted her life to being with them, nurturing them and following them in all of their endeavors. This included skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating and roller skating with their friends.

She also enjoyed camping, music and especially dancing. Evelyn could always be found watching her son’s participate in various sporting events, a joy she carried forward to watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting events as well. She was an accomplished seamstress and her family especially enjoyed her homemade chocolates.

Evelyn also was the school nurse at the Westmoreland Elementary School for several years as well as a member of the Westmoreland PTA. Evelyn cherished the years spent at Spofford Lake with her family and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Daniel H. Shelley and his wife, Gail, and David N. Shelley and his wife, Brenda, all of Westmoreland; her cherished grandchildren, Conrad “CJ” Shelley, Christopher “Spike” Shelley, Coleman Shelley, Jacob Shelley; her great-grandson, Nicholas Shelley; two brothers, Donald Fuller of Spofford, NH, Gordon Fuller and his wife, Jeannie, also of Spofford; many nieces, nephews and extended family members; and her many friends that Evelyn considered as family.

Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband of ten years, Neal C. Shelley in 1970; her second husband of 27 years, Raymond R. Quinn on July 5, 2018; and her dear friend of 20 years, Don Blood in 1990. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 10:30AM in the Westmoreland United Church, 9 South Village Common, Westmoreland. Burial in the East Westmoreland Cemetery will be private.
