OBITUARY Faye Chase Briggs April 11, 1933 – January 22, 2019 Mrs. Faye C. Briggs, 85, mother, wife, and dearest friend to all, died peacefully Tuesday morning, January 22, 2019, at her home in Preston Hollow. Faye was born in Ashdown, Arkansas on April 11, 1933 to Sadie and Lester Barr. Assuming several leadership roles in her younger years as Class Valedictorian, Majorette, and Editor of her school paper, Faye ultimately moved to Dallas Texas in the late 1950’s.

Faye soon accepted the prominent role of Executive Secretary at Price Waterhouse where she worked for several years before meeting, and then marrying the love of her life, Mr. Hugh M. Briggs in 1979. Sharing their time between Pauma Valley, Ca. and Dallas TX.

, Hugh and Faye Briggs enjoyed 14 years of happy marriage before Hugh’s passing in 1993. Faye lovingly described these cherished years as the “best years of her life”, and sought to always embrace the memory of her loving husband, Hugh, whom she affectionately referred to as “Hugh Baby”. A devout Christian, Faye was admired for both her faith, and her charity.

An avid philanthropist, Faye supported dozens of community-based programs but some of the charities’ that were dear to her heart are: Genesis Women’s Shelter, Nexus Recovery, Retina Foundation, Family Place, Kidney Texas, among many others. Service is to be held at St. Michaels Episcopal Church at 4pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 followed by a reception and final party at 5909 Desco, Dallas, Texas 75225. Faye is survived by Children: son Mike Montgomery and wife Vinette, daughter Pebble Mcgee and husband Mike, Bob Briggs and wife Hester; Grandchildren: Sarah Putman, Brook McKenzie, Evan McKenzie, Kaylyn Montgomery-Bernard, Briggs Montgomery, and Collin Montgomery; Great Grandchildren: Katie Faye, Avery, and Jack Putnam, Emma, Ela, Maxwell, and John Briggs McKenzie.
