Fern was born on June 23, 1935, to Clinton and Maybelle (Harland) Forrest in Sheboygan Falls, WI. Fern went to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 26, 2018, surrounded by her family. She married Norman Weiss on Feb.

5, 1952. Fern worked at the Wautoma Care Center (Jude Home) and Wild Rose Hospital as a CNA. She also worked at the Waushara County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and kitchen manager.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS, in Wautoma, and was active in the Senior Choir, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women of Trinity, LWML, and the Tape Ministry, and was on the Board of Trustees. Fern enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and going on cruises around the world. She loved crafting, flowers, card stamping, baking, crocheting, and playing games on her iPad.

Fern is survived by her husband, Norman, of 66 years, and her children: Kathy (Terry) Thompson, Daniel Weiss, Paul (Debra) Weiss, Bruce (Donna) Weiss, Steven Weiss, and Matthew (Kim) Weiss. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Loretta Peck, brother, John (Elaine) Forrest, and brother-in-law, Robert (Donna) Weiss, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Forrest, brother-in-law, James Peck, granddaughter, Christina Weiss, niece, (Goddaughter) Pauline Weiss, and nephew, David Weiss.

Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma, is in charge of the arrangements. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS, 121 W Elm Street, Wautoma, on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, a fund is established for Trinity Lutheran Church.

Fern will be buried at the Eureka Cemetery, Town of Rushford, Winnebago County. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Southern Care Hospice of Waupaca for the excellent care given to Fern and her family, and to Pastor Brian Rohde of Trinity Lutheran Church for his continued visits with Fern and spiritual care.
