Fernando “Fred” Lombardi, age 83, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Hope Center in Fayetteville surrounded by family. He was born on December 6, 1935 in Morcone Italy to the late Pasquale Lombardi and Ida DeFrancesco Lombardi. Along with his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his sister Gina DeFrancesco.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Lombardi; children, Ida Lombardi and her husband Mark Thompson, Fred Lombardi and his wife Ana, Dana Pagano and her husband Frank; grandchildren, Daniel Kmit, Anthony Lombardi Kmit, Matthew Pagano; nephews, Michael Pigna, Nicholas Pigna; niece, Joanna Pigna and sister, Maria Pigna. He is also survived by a long list of loving family in Italy. Fred was a loving father and grandfather.

When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed gardening and a had a great love for food and adventure. He was strong in his faith and was member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where he was a part of the Knights of Columbus. The funeral mass celebrating Fred’s life is Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 3 Village Road, in Newnan with Father Terry Crone officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 27th from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Fred’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550 Atlanta, GA 30346.
