Flake Hamilton Griffin, a resident of Sulphur was born October 16, 1926 in Plainview, Texas to Jack London & Lorene (Clark) Griffin. He passed away Saturday January 12, 2019 at Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years 2 months and 26 days. Flake lived in several areas while growing up; graduating from Tishomingo High School and attending Murray State College for 1 year.

He served in the Navy during WWII stationed on board the Bella Wood Air Craft Carrier. Flake and Sue Pittman were married on June 5, 1948 in Sherman, Texas. He worked as a packer hand in the oil field and as a farmer & rancher.

They lived in Stephens County before moving to this area about 14 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Clark & Glen Griffin. Survived by his wife: Sue Griffin of Sulphur, OK Son & daughter-in-law: Tom & Janice Griffin of Marlow, OK Daughter & son-in-law: Janet & Darryl Carter of Sulphur, OK Sister: Jackie Jenkins of Elizabethtown, KY Grandchildren & spouses: T.H. & Valerie Griffin, Wade & Terra Griffin, Tyler & Kim Griffin, Whitt & Madison Carter, Kendall & Sarah Carter, Jeremy & Janelle Hardoin 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be T.H. Griffin, Wade Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Whitt Carter, Kendall Carter, and Jeremy Hardoin. Services will be held Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 1:00PM at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. David George.
