OBITUARY Flora E. Bishop Turner February 28, 1924 – October 7, 2018 The family matriarch, Flora E. “Tiny” Bishop Turner 94, a longtime resident of Swanzey Center, NH, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Keene Center Genesis, Court Street, Keene, NH, surrounded by the love of her family. Her parents, Charles and Edna (Morris) Lancey, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on February 28, 1924 in Concord, New Hampshire. Flora worked for many years as a meat wrapper with the former First National Grocery Store in Keene.

She enjoyed camping, and was a member of the North American Family Campers Association. Flora resided in Sebastian, Florida for 27 years before returning to the area. While in Sebastian, she was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sebastian.

She was also a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary; and a member of the Red Hat Society, both in Sebastian. She also was a member of the Quilter’s Club, as well as the Fishing Club where she enjoyed fishing with her husband, Charles. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her son, Francis S. Bishop, Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Vero Beach, FL; her daughter, Gale Clark and her life-partner, George Maillet, of Waltham, Mass.

; her grandchildren, Ginger Hill and her husband, Steve, Geordie Fifield and his wife, Danielle, G-Ann Rowan and her husband, John, and Gina Bowers and her husband, Sonny, all of Keene, Gennifer Clark-Williams and her husband, Clifton Williams, of Leominster, MA, Greg Bishop and his wife, Cara, of Walpole, MA, Jarrod Bishop of Ponte Vedra, FL, Marc Bishop of Wellfleet , MA, Toni Philbrick and her husband, Ian, of Brewster, MA; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Tebo and Mildred Naylor, both of Keene; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Flora is also survived by her husband, Charles’ family, his children, John and Phyllis Turner of Vero Beach, Dean and Jodi Turner, Randy Turner, and Candace and Paul Hogue, all of the Keene area; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband of 30 years, Francis S. Bishop, Sr; her second husband of 40 years, Charles Turner; four brothers, Charles Lancey, Albert Lancey, Edward Lancey, Alvin “Manny” Lancey; and two sisters, Olive Cutter and Dorothy Boudrieau.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00AM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway (Route 32), Swanzey. There are no public calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Mrs. Turner’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
