Florence’s Obituary Florence “Dolly” Abel, 92, of Plainfield Township, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in Bethlehem Manor. She and her husband Earl Abel would have been married 72 years in June. Born February 24, 1927 in Stockertown, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo Papa and Anna Sapone Papa Carroccio, and the stepdaughter of the late Luigi Carroccio.

Dolly was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1945. She retired from Acopian Technical Company in 1992. She was very active in her church, Forks UCC in Stockertown, where she was a life member.

In addition to her husband, Dolly is survived by two nieces, Kathleen Owens and her husband Robert, and Diane Huber and her husband Michael; and two great nephews, Andrew John Owens and Michael Thomas Huber. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Papa. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 30 from 10-11 am in Forks UCC, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown.

Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Bob Gutekunst presiding. Dolly will be laid to rest in Forks Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St, Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dolly’s name may be offered to the church.
