Florence E. “Honey” (Szafranski) Stawinski, 83, a longtime resident of Natrona, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at The Willows at Presbyterian Senior Care Oakmont. Born on May 30, 1934, in Natrona, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdelena (Nyka) Szafranski. She was a graduate of St. Ladislaus Catholic Middle School and Class of 1952 Har-Brack High School.

Honey worked at the Liberty Mirror Co., Brackenridge, and the catering food systems, Bev-O-Matic and AVI in the canteen at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge, and retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Ladislaus R.C. Church, St. Joseph Parish, Natrona and a past member of the Natrona American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, but, especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Pam) Stawinski of Natrona and a daughter Michele (Bob) Kotecki of Buffalo Township; five grandchildren, Nathan Kotecki, Dr. Ryan Kotecki, Kiera Kotecki, Emily Stawinski and Jessica Stawinski; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Stanley J. Stawinski on December 14, 1989, a brother, Raymond Szafranski and an infant brother, Edward Szafranski, and five sisters, Cecelia Ziacik, Jean Califiore, Violet Marelli, Frances Grzywinski, and Dolores Gartley. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 2 Pine Street and River Avenue, Natrona where parting prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday followed by a 10 a.m. Christian Funeral Mass in St. Ladislaus R.C. Church, 48 Spruce Street, Natrona.

Burial will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
