Frances A. Flood, age 99, of Murray, KY, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at Spring Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Murray, KY. Frances Allen Flood was born May 12, 1919 in the Goose Hollow area of Trigg County to the late Reba Earl and Lillie Cunningham Allen. At the age of 4 the family moved to Between the Rivers.

On July 17, 1939 she married the late Eura M. Flood. They farmed Between the Rivers until they were forced to move in 1962 because of the impoundment of Lake Barkley. They relocated in Calloway County.

There she was involved in the everyday duties of the family farm. In 1976 at the death of her husband she took a job at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in Housekeeping, retiring from there in 1983, while still overseeing the farm. A member of Locust Grove Baptist Church since 1963, at her passing she was the oldest member.

At Locust Grove Baptist Church, she especially enjoyed being a part of the Senior Adult Women’s Sunday School Class and was one of the last two surviving members of the class. She is survived by: One Son- Larry Flood (Marilyn), Murray, KY, One Daughter – June Kay Ezell (Roy), Cadiz, KY, Four Grandchildren- Cynthia “Cindy” Ezell-Hinson, Rory Scott Ezell (Beth), Amber Henshaw (Jack), Allen Flood (Lindsay), Seven Great Grandchildren- Jack Ezell, Will Ezell, Sam Ezell, Corban Henshaw, Gadden Henshaw, Noah Flood, Daphne Hinson, Two Great Great Grandchildren- Sabrina Cook, Madison Cook and One Great Great Great Grandson- Lukas Cook. She was preceded in death by: Parents- Reba Earl and Lillie Cunningham Allen, Husband- Eura M. Flood, One Great Granddaughter- Ellen Scott Ezell, One Great Great Granddaughter- Emily Scott Cook, Four Brothers- Ragon Allen, Kenny Allen, Lacy Allen, James Allen and Two Sisters- Monico Oakley, Lucy Oglesby.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019. The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2019 with Bro. Hal Shipley, Bro.

Jack Henshaw and Pastor Allen Flood officiating and Rory Scott Ezell providing the eulogy. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens in Murray, KY.
