Frances’ Obituary Frances H. (Ryan) Goss, 94 Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother Fitchburg-Frances H. (Ryan) Goss, 94, a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, died peacefully on Monday morning, May 6, 2019 in Applewood Home for Elders, Athol. Frances was born in Fitchburg on October 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Frederick and Frances E. (Leware) Ryan. Her beloved husband Edward P. Goss predeceased her.

Frances will be sadly missed by eight children, Carol Goss of Fitchburg, Donna Dion of Oceanside, CA, Edward Goss of Fitchburg, Alyce Rhodes of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Goss of Fitchburg, Elizabeth Goss of Leominster, Nancy Robson of Michigan and Allyson Goss of Fitchburg; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by four sons, James, Mark, Gerald and Jeffrey Goss; two brothers, Richard and Buddy Ryan and one sister Nancy Viggiano. Frances worked as a Real Estate Broker for her own company, Frances H. Goss Real Estate as well as many years at The Berkey Photo Company in Fitchburg.

Frances was the President of the Marian Guild of St. Bernard’s Church in 1964, as well as the Secretary of the Montachusett Board of Realtors. She was a life-long member of St. Bernard Parish and was also a member of the Ladies Guild of St. Agnes and the Fay Club. Although raising 12 children took up most of her time, Frances enjoyed writing.

Every night she would write down the story of her life and all of the details of each day. She loved to color and when she was younger she enjoyed traveling frequently. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water St., Fitchburg with a Mass at 10 am in St. Bernard Parish at St. Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg.

Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6-8 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks, Waltham, MA 02452.
