Frances M. (Pieczarka) Walas, affectionately known to her family as “Franny,” passed away on December 16, 2018. Born in Windsor Locks, CT. on January 15, 1918 and lived most of her life in Westfield.

Frances was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Stanley (Bucky) T. Walas on December 27, 2001. She was also predeceased by her sisters Delia Marinacico, Geneive Tenerowicz, Stacia Wynglarz, Josephine Whitten, Antonia Barnes and her brothers Raymond and Edward Pieczarka. Franny left many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

She worked alongside her husband Stanley & his brothers who owned and operated the Airline Drive-In in Chicopee, MA. Later on she also worked at Whites Quaint Shop until she devoted her life to take care of her brother Edward. Franny was a caring, loving, generous and thoughtful person who always thought of others, supporting her family, church, community and friends.

She loved to travel to Florida with Bucky, Delia, Eddie and her friend Annie. She was a member of the Women of the Moose for over 50 years and became a life-time member. Franny will be missed by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind soul.

Her family is thankful for the love and personal care that she received from the Governors Center. In memory of Franny, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Church, 330 Elm Street Westfield, MA 01085 or the American Cancer Society, 330 Whitney Avenue, Ste 420, Holyoke, MA 01040.
