Frances Marie Ruisi, September 29, 1940 — May 10, 2019

Frances Marie Ruisi died May 10, 2019 at the age of 78. Frances was born on September 29, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Antoinetta (Posenato) Bianco. She received her B.S. and Masters of Ed.

“plus 30” from Queens College in Queens, NY and went on to serve the New York City Public School system for more than two decades as a 5th grade teacher at P.S. 153 in Maspeth, Queens. Frances married her high school crush, William Ruisi in 1962 when he returned from service in the USMC. They went on to live in Great Neck, NY and raised their only daughter Anne until moving to New Canaan, CT in 1993.

Frances was passionate about classical and choral music and loved playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed crocheting and put her creative energy into many projects for her home and family. When her first grandchild was born she left her life on the east coast behind to relocate to Ann Arbor to fully embrace the joy of being a grandmother.

She loved her grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could and never missed an opportunity to share in their growing accomplishments. Frances was always very generous with her time and offers of help, for which her family is grateful. Her friendly smile lit up the room whenever a visitor came to see her and she gained many friends among those trusted to care for her during her residence at the Glacier Hills care facility in Ann Arbor, MI.

She is survived by her daughter Anne (Pepijn) Bruienne; her grandchildren Jack, Maxine, and Teddy; and her sister Mary (Martin) Hoxenhorn. She was predeceased by her parents. Visitation Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 2 – 8 pm at the Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor.
