Fran Mikolas, 86, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born December 30, 1931 in Springdale to the late Steve & Mary Tabachek Mikolas, and was a 1949 graduate of Springdale High School. Fran was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church of Lower Burrell and was Executive Director of the Alle-Kiski Senior Citizens Center of New Kensington for 30 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Nathan, Lina, Ava and Olivia, and her great-grandson, Anthony. She also loved flower gardening, solving crossword puzzles, and taking trips to the Amish country. Besides her grandchildren and great-grandson, survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann (Thomas) Bowser of Arnold and son, Thomas (Stephanie) Strellec of Allegheny Township; and two brothers, Ed (Genie) Mikolas and Robert Mikolas.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Strellec-Lucco; and many loving aunts and uncles. Viewing will be 2-4p & 6-8p on Sunday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD. , 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be held Monday at 9:30a followed by funeral Mass at 10a in St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell.

Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery, Tarentum.
