Ondracek, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Dalhart, TX. Rosary & Funeral Mass will be held at 9:45am on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at St. Anthony’s of Padua, Dalhart, TX. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX.

Officiating by Father Lawrence John ~ Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Frances Edward Ondracek was born on January 2, 1929 in Maywood, California to Edward and Florence (Pine) Ondracek. Frances graduated for Price High School in Amarillo, TX and from St. Edwards College in Austin, TX.

He married Mary Jo French in 1953 in Borger, TX, she died in 2010. Mr. Ondracek was a veteran of the US Army and served for over 8 yrs. He was a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church.

Frances was owner and operator of several business in his career, including the Gulf Service Station and Bus Station, a boat and ski shop, and the Dalhart Bowling Center. His hobbies included camping, fishing and flying. He was an instrument rated instructor pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Frances is survived by his daughter, Nancy Gray Desbiens and husband Rick of Livingston, TX, A son: Philip Ondracek of Dalhart, TX. granddaughter: Kathrin Sprouse of Corsicana, TX, grandson: Henry Gray, Jr. of Livingston, TX, great grandsons: Nathan and Christopher, & Vinson a great granddaughter: Kaitlynn all of Corsicana, TX. and a brother Joe Allen and wife Carol Ondracek of Gaylord, Michigan Preceded in death by his wife Mary Josephine, his parents and a brother.
