Obituary for Francis F. Goehry Francis F. Goehry, more affectionately known as Bud, was born in Nebraska in 1939 to Mabel and George Goehry. He thrived on tormenting his three older sisters throughout their early life in Castle Rock, Colorado. Bud began working at a young age, washing dishes and haying for the local ranchers.

He learned his mechanic skills from his dad, working at Goehry’s Garage. In 1960 He married his soul mate, Patricia Ann Lamberson. Bud helped build the Air Force Academy.

He and Pat bought their homestead in Castle Rock, where they raised their four children and also taught them how to fish, shoot, run a tractor and fix cars. The most important thing he taught them was a strong work ethic and how to be kind. During this time, he worked at several jobs, running a propane business, working at Martin Marrietta, before retiring from the Colorado State Highway Department after 23 years.

He was a master mechanic, and heavy equipment operator. Bud was a collector. He and Pat spent weekends at garage sales and auctions collecting more than the treasures.

He collected the stories and the souls of the items. He cherished getting to know the people he met. He felt sympathy for the ones going through the tough times often giving them more than they were asking.

Bud loved talking to his son-in-law’s and daughter-in-law about his collections and valued the times he spent with them. He loved his grandchildren, grand dogs, and all of the many others who called him family. He felt a genuine need to teach his grandkids history and how to be better people in life.

He loved to show them the fun in life as well. He gained a clear breath in heaven on July 9th surrounded by Pat, his kids and his loving dog Gomer. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Patricia, his sisters Marilyn Jensen, Norma Jean Eckles and Marilou Wilson.

Also, his four Children and their families: Cheryl and Jay Fields (Danae and Lauren), Dayna Rodgers (Bridget (Lucian), Toni and Eli), Tom and Amanda Goehry (Leo) and Linda and Tim Greenwood (and their puppies Hazel and Sake).
