Francis Keesecker, 87, formally of Glenville, West Virginia, succumbed to cancer on 09. 24. 2018 surrounded by family and friends.

For the past 16 years, he resided in Pelion, SC. He was born on July 14, 1931 in Vadis, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Brooks Keesecker, and brother to the late Ralph Keesecker.

Francis was preceded in death by his late wife Logretha of 29 years and is survived by daughters: Debbie Burchfield of Tennessee. , Cecile (Rey) Torres of South Carolina, Alecia (David) Edwards of West Virginia, and sons: Richard Keesecker of West Virginia, Anthony (Melissa) Keesecker of North Carolina, Mark (Sharon) Keesecker of Ohio, and by six grandchildren: Joe, Greg, Marie, Matthew, Zackary, and Kayla. Francis is also survived by his loving soulmate, Patricia Cowell of Pelion, SC and her family to include: Lisa Cowell Long (Mike), Greg Cowell (Kelly), and her grandchildren: Melissa (Jim) and “L” Greg (Victoria), with four great-grandchildren.

Francis was a mechanic by trade and after 28 plus years of service, he retired from the (Gilmer County) WV Department of Highways. Over his life time, Francis wore many hats, as a Coal miner, Truck driver, Pipe liner, Mailman, Carpenter, and Farmer. We don’t believe there was ever a time when the man wasn’t tinkering on something.

He was no stranger to demanding work and enjoyed working with his hands. Even with one or two projects in the works, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends on their project. Though he may have left some projects undone we can find solace in knowing he is at peace.

Rest easy Francis, (Dad and Grand-dad) you will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to American Cancer Society in his name to help find a cure for this horrible disease. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
