Lexington – Donna Small Shelley, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Born in Loris, SC on April 7, 1937 to Alton Charlie and Lillie Mae (Etheridge) Small, she was the oldest of six children. Donna married the love of her life, Willie J. Shelley on December 27, 1953.

They moved to West Columbia in 1957 and made this area their home. She worked for Lexington Sportswear, Department of Social Services in Lexington and most recently was a retail associate at Walmart in Lexington. She was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, William Jason (Lindsey) of Lexington, SC; a daughter, Jana Shelley Gunter (Greg) of Gilbert, SC; a grandson, Trent Gunter of Gilbert, SC; a granddaughter, Logan Gunter of Gilbert, SC; a brother, Bill Small (Jean) of Loris, SC; two sisters, Betty Woods (Bryce) of Florence, SC and Judy Johnson (David) of Spartanburg, SC; countless nieces and nephews; many children who knew and loved her as Gram; and her best friend of more than 60 years, Evelyn Ray of West Columbia, SC She was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Alton Edwin Small. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Entombment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC.
