OBITUARY David Houston Mills March 21, 1963 – September 13, 2018 LEXINGTON – After a short but fierce fight with cancer, David passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Mills; daughters, Kayla (Morgan) Inman, Shelby Mills; sons, Brandon Mills, Brock Mills; step-children, Paige Putman, Brent Buchmanan; grandchildren, Bradley Boyd, Callaway Mills, Cayden Inman, Wyatt Putman; siblings, Linda Kelly, Robert Mills, Kathy Askins, Don Mills, Diane Williams; nephews, Garrett Askins, Cole Anz, Matthew Mills, Brent Mills, John Mills and nieces, April Kelly, Amanda Kelly, Brittany Mills and Ashley Williams. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Mills and Peggy Guyton Mills Mungo and grandson, Bentley Dean Inman. David was a loving, devoted, amazing husband and father.

He has always gone above and beyond anything expected of any husband or father. Words cannot express the loss we all feel. David was a devoted father to his children.

The lessons of courage, hard work, how to laugh and have fun will remain with them for the rest of their lives. David was the fifth of six siblings. He was always the one to pull a joke and take the dare with no fear.

He lended a hand to family members, friends and strangers. His last wishes to his family members were to take care of one another and told them he loved them. David was a dedicated employee of Harsco Rail for 29 years.

During his time there, many of his co-workers became close friends. Thank you to Harsco for your kindness, love and support during David’s illness. David leaves a legacy of laughter, good memories with a host of extended family and friends, especially Cameron Bradham and Don Frick.
